We support local approaches to peace mediation through the inclusion of business actors, armed groups, religious and tribal leaders, and communities.

  • We provide in-depth analysis for potential local-level engagements to resolve conflicts between diverse actors.
  • We offer focused, targeted support at various points of a mediation process: analysis, facilitation, consensus-building, managing difficult discussions, identifying stakeholders, process design options, risk management, capacity building, mentoring and accompaniment.
  • We design and facilitate local processes that enable local actors to contribute meaningfully to peace processes at different levels.
  • We identify and facilitate linkages between different levels of a peace process – known as tracks 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 – to ensure coherence and mutually reinforcing efforts to foster peace.
  • We undertake applied research to support the wider mediation community with knowledge products to better engage with diverse local actors.
