Carolina Viana

Junior Consultant

Carolina is part of the Roster of Junior Consultants at TrustWorks. She supports the CEO and Senior Advisors on initiatives to promote responsible business in fragile and conflict affected settings. She is particularly interested in the impact of innovative, collaborative, and inclusive initiatives with relevant private and public-sector actors to prevent conflict, promote stability and foster peace-positive development.

Alongside her work at TrustWorks, Carolina is currently supporting the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), as an external asylum junior expert, in strengthening the capacity of European Member States’ national asylum authorities.

Carolina started her career in 2019 as an intern with the United Nations in Switzerland and Guinea-Bissau. She has worked with UNAIDS and the UK Mission for the UN in Geneva and with the UN Peacebuilding Mission for Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS) in Bissau. She has also volunteered with NGOs in refugee-based emergency responses in Larissa, Northern Greece and Dundo, Northern Angola.

Carolina has a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Warwick, as well as a Master’s degree in International Law from SOAS University. During her studies, she focused on human rights in conflict and post-conflict settings.
