Mohamed, currently based in Virginia, has more than ten years of experience implementing and managing development projects in North Africa and the Middle East, especially focusing on his native Libya where he has managed more than 25 projects since 2011. Among other areas, Mohamed has specialized in supporting democratic transitioning and the establishment of free and fair election processes.
Outside Mohamed’s work at TrustWorks, he serves as a consultant for partners and clients providing consultancy services to NGOs and think-thanks including services such as: Program management and development, budgeting and implementation, business development, and security and countering violent extremism (CVE). From 2015-2017, he worked at the Libyan Institute for Advanced Studies first as Country Director for Tunisia and later as Director of International Programs, overseeing all aspects of program operations. Prior to this, he was Initiative Coordinator for the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue working with various stakeholders on the ground in Libya to improve political and economic development.
He also has extensive experience in IT serving previously in an IT systems administration role, and overseeing one of Libya’s largest IT-based projects.
Mohamed holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and obtained a Diploma in Peace Mediation from SwissPeace and Swiss FDFA in Switzerland.
